      Field Service Technician:

      We are looking to develop the right attitudes and experience into our existing, high-performing Selpak Service Technician Team. The team act as field and site-based customer contacts in performing the short-term planning, coordination and execution of planned and corrective maintenance, as well as certain installation projects. Advanced troubleshooting of control systems. Execute advanced and/or complex commissioning activities.

      Who You Are:

      • Electrical and or Fitting Trade Qualified or equivalent or;
      • Diploma or Bachelor in, automation, process, or mechanical engineering or equivalent
      • Experience in Automation is required
      • Ability to travel is required
      • Experience in processing environments is a must; the Pharmaceutical and or Food manufacturing industry is desirable
      • Project management (equipment installation), installations and/or service work, customer management, technical and commercial customer discussions/negotiations
      • Self-motivated individual with, good verbal and written skills with a desire to be a multi-skilled service leader

      Installation and Service Technician Job Duties:

      • Serves existing accounts by analysing work orders; planning daily travel schedules; investigating complaints; conducting tests; resolving problems.
      • Establishes service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests.
      • Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.
      • Keeps personal equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
      • Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
      • Maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential.
      • Accomplishes operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

      What you will do

      • Lead the daily contact and operational relationship with the Selpak team and your designated customer/customers, based at the customer site, delivering on contract expectations. Drive the request of required resources to Central Planning, according to your customer allocation and based on planned activities or direct input from the customer, and act as a contact point with the customer to confirm requests.
      • Support senior installers to drive and execute commissioning and performance validation for Capital Equipment installations at customer sites.
      • Lead the delivery of planned maintenance audits according to the Selpak recommendations. Execute and complete all relevant reports in an accurate and timely way. Distribute reports according to existing procedures and ensure that proper handover is done. Maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all relevant technical documentation.
      • Coordinate required activities and execute planned preventive maintenance activities in line with agreed procedures, ensuring the effective operation of our equipment. Reinstate equipment into production according to agreed service targets. Execute installation of complex rebuilding kits according to procedures and reinstate lines into production according to agreed service targets.
      • Execute analysis and troubleshoot to resolve mechanical and automation issues on equipment and systems. Conduct systematic root cause analysis of issues to enable permanent resolution. Promptly report and manage all discovered Technical Issues, when needed, escalate to the next appropriate level in a timely manner. Use performance monitoring data to identify issues and validate improvements. Escalate wider operational efficiency issues when appropriate.
      • Lead, in agreement with the technical sales responsible, the communication with customers on issues, activities and opportunities to sustain good working relationships and ensure that everyone is kept informed. Communicate with relevant functions and levels within the customer's organisation. Develop and coach operators and customer technicians within their respective fields of activity. Conduct relevant customer training.
      • Maintain a good knowledge and understanding of existing services and solutions and keep updated on the direction of customers' account plans. Actively seek business opportunities to be shared with the organization and support service sales including the sale of spare parts and follow-up services.
      • Execute all work in accordance with Australian Safety Regulations and customers' site safety requirements and promote a safe working culture in the team. Address all discovered food safety, quality assurance and regulatory issues to the customer and Selpak.
